Job Description:
The Department of Facilities & Safety at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Site Representative - Residence Halls.
The Department of Facilities Planning and Safety is responsible for capital planning, delivery of capital projects, energy management, space management, facilities operations, and property control across 45 major buildings and approximately 2.4 million gross square feet of building floor space. Duties include but are not limited to:
Representing the campus and the architect/engineer on various construction projects as assigned, assisting in planning and design of locally let projects; working with, staff, and design professionals in development of projects; during construction, overseeing contractor compliance with contract drawings and specifications, monitoring contractor progress, handling contractor questions; screening contractor administrative work/payment requests on behalf of SUNY/AE; managing project close-out and warranty duties as required; and, other project related duties as assigned.
Salary

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree OR
comparable education (minimum Associate's degree) and work experience
Five years of field experience managing construction projects
Demonstrable working knowledge of applicable building codes, laws, rules and standards regulating design and construction
Thorough understanding of project specifications, plan drawings and other construction documents including submittals and shop drawings
Effective written and verbal skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Exceptional organizational skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred:
Experience managing projects from inception, through design and construction
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management
Experience working on a higher education campus
Experience with NY State construction procurement processes
Experience working with and serving diverse populations
