Summary:

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for broad leadership and coordination of power domain technical dependencies and schedule for AMD products. This is a highly cross functional systems role leading horizontal teams. The following is a list of key responsibilities that the candidate will assume:

Technical Breadth - requires functional understanding of several disciplines contributing to power management (silicon, firmware, platform, hardware, BIOS, thermal)

Decision making – making priority calls based on partial/incomplete data

Communication – technical and non-technical – pulling together meetings as necessary, setting up clear agendas and sending notes, following up on action items

Leadership – influencing the product and wider teams

Planning – bringing together knowledge sharing, testing, enablement and optimization plans for all power management related features, across business units

Coordinating debug of power management related features, helping to drive open issues to closure

Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities

Participating in the product definition process

Requirements:

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Design Engineering

Experience: 3 years

Strong

understanding of PC system architecture, operating systems, drivers, ACPI and BIOS

Deep understanding of digital electronics

Understanding of power/thermal management

Strong analytical /problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
