Role Summary:

The Power Systems Analysis Software Leader is responsible for guiding and participating in the development and commercial licensing of our commercial software products for large-scale power system analysis (power flow, stability, short circuit analysis, etc.).

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Power Systems Analysis Software Leader, you will:

Lead, support, and mentor a team of power system engineers and software developers in the development of commercial applications for power system analysis

Assist in developing software tools to improve the performance of engineering application simulations

Work closely with internal and external customers to understand needs and translate those needs into short- and long-term product development plans

Manage and drive development plans to meet project milestones

Participate in industry events to advance our products and discuss key development milestones

Participate in and lead customer sales and marketing activities

Provide customer demonstrations and training classes

Engage with industry organizations to identify and participate in externally funded activities


Bachelor’s Degree in Power Systems Engineering or related field (i.e., computer science, computer systems engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics) from an accredited university or college

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in engineering, product management or a related function

Desired Characteristics:

Understanding of large-scale power flow and dynamics algorithms or other complex numerical simulations

Master’s Degree in Power Systems Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college

Experience with commercial software engineering practices (source code control, bug tracking, QA, etc.)

Experience leading software development teams

Demonstrated project management skills

Experience with object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#, Python) and C

Demonstrated experience with developing commercial power system engineering software applications

Strong communication and problem-solving skills
