An in depth working knowledge of supervising, controlling, and operating a utility power plant. Familiar with the operations of all the plant equipment (electrical and mechanical), in addition to a firm understanding of all SOPs/ERPs to support plant operations.
Strong background in understanding Power Plant construction and design, and can help write and verify new SOPs/ERPs/MOPs and manage a Standard Configuration program for the plant.
Basic knowledge of Power Plant construction and design and understanding a project life cycle, to include initiating/planning/executing/monitoring/closing a project.
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively to supervisors, managers, project teams, government, and contractors.
Basic knowledge of a QA/QC processes.
Ability to read and interpret site engineering drawings (both electrical/mechanical) and provide feedback to the government on suggestive changes to meet site needs.
Ability to sit in meetings and provide feedback on projects (both mechanical/electrical) to ensure Operational success, constant communication, and maximize plant efficiency.
Ability and comfortable speaking directly to management, leading conversation, and presenting information to large groups.
Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Ability to work after hours, weekends, public holidays and possible shift work as needed to support projects and operations.
Must be able to work in a safe manner utilizing all required PPE, site safety plans, and safe work practices at all times.
Must be able to use or learn to use Microsoft Officer, including Microsoft Project.
Other duties as assigned.
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years if non-degreed some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Trade school diploma or completed apprenticeship.
5 years of experience as a utility plant operator
2 years of supervisory experience
Ability to work after hours, weekends, public holidays and possible shift work to support project work
U.S. Citizen with valid driver’s license
Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
Accredited degree or global equivalent in engineering or business or equivalent work experience, with four (4) years of operations, maintenance engineering, and/or applied home office experience
Expert in at least one (1) area of plant operations and/or maintenance technology
