Job Summary

Responsible for participating as an individual contributor in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Interfaces with vendors, engineering and peer operations organizations. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies and procedures. Provides technical leadership to junior Engineers and project teams. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Overview of the Role:

TES Critical Infrastructure (CI) Operations Engineer is directly accountable for the planning, installation, and maintenance of all TPX National Lab locations regarding power, space, and cooling. Engineer will work in direct collaboration with HQ facilities and TES Engineering teams to assess facility impacts, drive strategic augmentation, and ensure total alignment with the latest industry standards. Individual possesses a deep understanding of CI engineering skills and methodology within MSO architectures and facilities, applying long-term objectives and plans related to the company's technical vision to daily activities.

CI Operations Engineer will serve as a CI expert, reducing time to market by directly assisting product owners and TPX lab teams in lab planning and identification of power, space, and cooling requirements. Implements, reviews, analyzes, and actions on real time monitoring metrics to drive capacity modeling and reliability of the network. Exhibits a Proven ability to understand, communicate, and implement facility compliance standards with employees and contractors. Directly drives initiatives pertaining to the integration and adoption of Comcast DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) systems. Documents all facility design changes into tooling, defines site-by-site long range planning to address capacity growth, and develops meaningful reporting for management. Prepares various types of project plan documentation including development of standardized SMOPs, BOMs, SOW, etc. to expedite and streamline implementation. Engineer maintains in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in area of discipline while determining work priorities and serving as resource for fellow employees. Interfaces regularly with vendors, engineering, and peer operations organizations, including Design Engineering, Video Engineering, CMTS Engineering, Systems Engineering, IP Network Engineering, Infrastructure, and Project Management.

Attributes We Are Seeking:

Firm knowledge of all aspects of power generation and (AC & DC) power distribution including facility and cabinet based PDU's, ATS's, and inverter systems, cooling, single line drawings, generators, etc.

Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to seamlessly collaborate with vendors, internal customers, teammates, and leadership.

Knowledge & experience DCIM tools, and various building management protocols (Modbus, SNMP, etc) & CI device integration.

A hard-working learner and advocate of our groundbreaking technology.

Individual with a high level of accountability - taking ownership of challenges and seeing them through to resolution.

A natural inclination to work collaboratively, to be transparent, and to seek and give feedback continuously.

An aptitude for technology and enjoy complex problem-solving while being adaptable and responsive.

Strong technical resource and advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies, and processes, ensuring projects are fully integrated into the operations environment tooling, including lifecycle management and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).

A self-starter who demonstrates critical thinking, self-motivation, time-management, courage, and curiosity.

Ability to partner with functional teams and vendors to influence and drive alignment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

5-7 years of experience in production Cable MSO (multiple-system operators) / datacenter deployments & engineering facilities, handling CI capacity and real-time monitoring.

Expert knowledge of Critical Infrastructure systems (power/space/cooling) and their importance to Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM). Proven ability to analyze, manage, and physically evaluate CI scenarios, and drive corrections or enhancements to ensure infrastructure operation efficiency.

Experience in creating, analyzing, and reporting on real-time metrics to determine effective work processes, drive standardization, and ensure compliance.

Familiarity with physical facilitation of emerging technologies and procedures, acting as a key stakeholder in strategic decisions around products, platforms, and technologies.
