As a System Compatibility Group (SCG) Systems Software Engineer Intern in the Non-Volatile Engineering Group (NVEG), you will be responsible for developing software applications designed to perform and/or automate in-depth analysis of system-level compatibility issues! This work suits the purpose of diagnosis, troubleshooting, test, validation, qualification, or performance characterization. You will have the opportunity to stay ahead of industry standards, technologies, development tools, and development techniques and acquire knowledge as needed. You will work with other Micron engineers and technicians from groups including Production Engineering, Systems Integration, Test, QA, and RMA and occasionally communicate with external customers.!
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
*Design and Develop Software Tools Utilized by Internal Groups *Gather customer requirements *Build design specifications interactively with the customer to ensure it meets customer needs *Specify development tools using Micron standards *Implement specifications with periodic design reviews with customer *Create User and Developer supporting documentation *Validate software performs per design specification *Deploy validated tool while working with customer to ensure smooth rollout *Specify a mechanism for customer feedback *Provide Ongoing Support of Software Tools Utilized by Internal Groups *Review and help prioritize customer feedback (bug reports, optimizations, porting to different OS/platforms and other improvements) *Provide recommendation for resolving customer issues *Design and develop as needed *Maintain a Working Knowledge of Micron Products and Customer Platforms *Maintain knowledge of Micron products *Understand and apply written hardware/software specifications *Maintain knowledge and understanding of system interfaces to Micron products *Maintain knowledge of test platforms for functionality *Continually Acquire New Skills (Software/Hardware) and Knowledge *Stay ahead of new technology, development tools, and development techniques *Analyze new tools for advantages over current tool sets *Set Up, Test, and Debug Mobile Products, PC, Work Station, or Server *Maintain working knowledge of oscilloscopes, hardware debuggers, in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers, and other tools *Install modules, motherboards, processors, video and network cards, and other accessory components to create a functional platform
*Progress towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent *Graduation date should not be prior to September 1, 2020
