Job Summary

The Junior

Sales Engineer

provides technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. This role assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.

Summary of essential job functions

Collaborating with internal sales teams and sales management to understand unique and specific customer requirements

Preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers detailing customized technical solutions

Demonstrating capabilities of ZoomInfo products within third party platforms and customers’ “ideal workflow”

Providing user support during the implementation of new systems and system customizations to prove concepts and increase adoption

Providing continued, ongoing technical support post-sale by helping clients solve problems with installed equipment and make ongoing adjustments to reflect changes in integrated platforms

Directly supporting Sales Engineers in understanding gaps in product strategy and technical feature requirements through customer feedback, defect resolution, and custom product modifications required to meet use case specific needs based on seriousness, urgency, and impact

Minimum requirements

5 - 7 combined years’ experience including:

2 - 3 years’ technical sales experience either as a direct seller of data products or in a technical supporting role (Sales Engineer, Product Support Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or a similar position with a technical background)

5 years’ experience in a customer facing role

3 - 5 years’ combined background in IT, operations, and customer service

1 - 2 years’ experience implementing custom solutions or administering Salesforce CRM

Admin level exposure to at least one of the following platforms: Dynamics, Oracle CRM, Hubspot, Marketo, Outreach.io, Salesloft, Sugar, ZOHO, or Eloqua

Abilities required

Good sense of humor

Exudes confidence in customer facing engagements

Deep understanding of personas, common problems, and data relevant business challenges related to Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Executive roles

Highly organized, collaborative, self-disciplined, and a self-learner

Demonstrated ability to discuss the financial and business implications of proposed solutions at varying management levels

Demonstrated understanding of API’s and data flow between systems

Aptitude to multitask/manage ad hoc customer and seller inquiries on both simple and complex product capability and packaging questions

Comfort wearing many “hats” in a high volume, fast-paced work environment

Draft, execute, and adhere to timelines on customized project plans with both technical and non-technical counterparts

Loves analytics and has strong business analysis and problem-solving skills

Interpret customer requirements and troubleshoot problems where clients are often unable to articulate their needs

Seeks out opportunities to improve processes and efficiency within role

Passion for achieving what most consider unachievable
