Role Summary:The

Senior Engineer, reporting to a mechanical component sub-section manager is responsible to execute, with limited guidance, the analysis of

compressor hardware and evaluate capability against product / program

requirements. You will join a team of eight other lead, senior and staff engineers in our Evendale, Ohio facility

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams

Maintain an active role in developing and defining the state of the art in your technical specialty to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to schedules and estimated costs

Support other GE businesses, internal and external customers, and suppliers as required

Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams

Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters

Use knowledge and expertise to market winning proposals in anticipation of business product needs

Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company

Execute detailed technical tasks as needed by unique programming needs, both experimentally and analytically

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering capacity

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Desired Characteristics:

Active government security clearance

Proficiency with stress analysis tools and processes

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Demonstrated ability to document, plan and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business

Problem analysis and resolution skills

Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical specialty, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within this field

Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work

Demonstrated understanding of gas turbines and mechanical design

Proficiency with ANSYS and other GE-proprietary stress analysis tools
