Job Description :

TalentBridge is partnered with one of Charlotte's premier manufacturing organizations in search for their next Quality Engineer

to focus on supplier development. The individual in this role will work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to improve product quality and improve the supply chain performance.

Work with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Management to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective/preventative actions are implemented

Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule

Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization and continuous improvement

Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s

Establish specific short / long term supplier quality goals

Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers

Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events

Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base

Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Understanding of project management (experience preferred)

Knowledge of quality system methodologies Lean, 5 Why’s, PPAP, etc.

Prefer working knowledge of ISO 9001

Familiarity with Quality lab inspection equipment and techniques

Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, methodology, and special processes

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups

Function independently of direct supervision

Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel as required
