The GPS (Global Product Development and Supply) Analytics team within Business Insights and Analytics partners with the BMS GPS organization to support data analytics for all key functions within GPS. GPS Analytics focuses on answering key business questions that will drive prioritized business decisions using Performance metrics, advanced analytics and data science. The Associate Director User Experience Design & Performance Metrics will collaborate with the Director of Business Performance Management to develop and implement User experience standards, powerful visualizations with story, and drive performance metrics automation. The successful candidate has a strong background in UI design, dashboard design standards, and process automation and has expertise in one or more of the following areas: Tableau/Spotfire dashboard development, data analytics, data visualization, statistics, Python and R coding and. Experience managing teams is desirable.

The Associate Director, Manufacturing Operations Analytics will collaborate with the Director of Business Performance Management to establish core capabilities within the team, namely:

Lead development and maintain visualization and user experience standards for GPS BIA

Build powerful, stand-out visualizations of process and business operations data

Consult on and help with the making of creative data visualization to give users the best experience possible

Manage review process for visualizations to ensure consistency and optimal use of the visualization tool

Deliver innovative reporting through advanced Tableau visualization and other BI tools to produce analytics visualizations at all levels

Develop, standardize and execute data visualization design principles for a large team

Supports and champions a culture of analytics and fact-based decision making through the utilization of standardmethodologies and approaches

Collaborates closely with other key line functions and communicates complex data/decisions within department and functionally (including IT, Procurement, and Finance) to achieve organizational objectives

Identifies new opportunities to further leverage analytics, data and analytical solutions - prioritizing opportunities with the biggest potential benefit to the business

Supporting Business Decisions

Identifies and contextualizes critical business issues, working to embed an objective and unbiased point of view into the business conversation.

Drives the application of fact based decision making for key questions within the Small Molecule Drug Substance, Drug Product and Parenteral portfolio's enabling priority business choices.

Develops and maintains a deep understanding of Internal Manufacturing business priorities, meeting agreed upon analytics deliverables / timing.

Driving Analytics and Capabilities

Designs, develops and implements a broad array of business analytics that solve complex problems in a computationally efficient and statistically effective manner.

Identifies new opportunities to further leverage analytics, data and analytical tools.

Ensures best practice adoption within stated areas of responsibility, applying appropriate levels of technical capability, standardization and subject matter expertise.

Proactively manages planned and ad hoc analytics requests, ensuring consistent quality and timeliness in delivery to business stakeholders.

Leverages standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision making processes, and utilizes appropriate escalation processes.

Provides input/feedback and works actively to improve and enhance capabilities related to the GPS BIA team

Supports culture of analytics and fact-based decision making through the utilization of standard methodologies and approaches.

Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence

Manages a team of external analytics contractors and vendors when applicable or assigned.

Supervises and collaborates closely with internal team members and external contractors.

Conducts detailed team walkthroughs and peer review of team's work to ensure quality, cross training and knowledge management within the team.

Ensures consistent adoption of standards, processes and methodologies by contracted or other team staff.

Authors detailed documentation that describes analytics tool development, assumptions and input data and any specialized data treatments. Authors' user manual for dissemination within Manufacturing Operations user base.

List of minimum requirements

Education: Bachelors or Master Degree in Design,Computer Science, Engineering, or, masters preferred

7-10 years' experience designing and implementing reporting solutions including interactive dashboards preferably in a consulting role; less experience considered for exceptional performers

Experience leading / supporting an analytics transformation with demonstrated results simplifying end-user experience by implementing self-service reporting solutions

Ability to translate reporting needs into user-centric dashboards including UX design experience and deep understanding of user-centered design (UCD)

Extensive Tableau development experience required, certification preferred

Familiarity with Spotfire and other visualization tools preferred

Experience in developing process automation framework.

Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team-building, and communication skills to ensure effective collaborations within matrix teams.
