The EHI Rental Database team is responsible for providing database services in support of our core rental technologies. The team has ownership for ensuring database technologies and services are deployed, managed and maintained in a manner that creates the highest value for our customers and adheres to best practices as well as compliance requirements. Along with driving consistency and supportability in the environment, our team continually identifies and plans for enhancement and design opportunities that will allow our solutions to meet the needs of our fast paced, growing business. As an Engineer 2, you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual who can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations. You must maintain effective relationships with all levels of company management, as well as with internal and external customers.
Assume ownership for the Oracle database environment
Provide Database Administration and support of ORACLE versions 12c and 18g to solution owners
Implement and support Administration tasks such as backup and recovery procedures, database utilities, and data replication technologies for both PROD and NON PROD environments
Create and maintain UNIX and SQL scripts to automate tasks such as monitoring and generating reports
Log, schedule and track all changes using change management system tools
Responsible for all corrections to the database infrastructure and for repairs to the system or database
Protecting our customers and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions

3 years of related IT experience
3 years of hands on experience with Oracle 11G and 12C
Experience with Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.05 or higher (OEM)
Proficient Oracle DBA knowledge including upgrades, RMAN backup/recovery
Experience protecting Confidential and Highly-Confidential database content
Strong understanding of Oracle performance tuning
Strong understanding of SQL tuning and optimization of query plans
Experience with multiple facets of Data Guard including physical and Active DG
Strong communication skills with the ability to transcend the organization with appropriate levels of detail
Strong teamwork, decision-making, documentation and analytical skills
Must be willing to work on an on-call rotation
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
5 years experience with Oracle on AIX UNIX is highly preferred
Knowledge of database encryption
Knowledge of Perl, Bsh shell, KSH and Java Script
Familiarity with cloud solutions like Amazon and Azure
Familiarity with Open Source Databases such as Maria DB/MySQL/CouchDB/PostgreSQL/Cassandra
Experience working with Oracle on Redhat Linux
Experience working with Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c or higher
