Job Description:

The Naval Architect Marine Engineer's role is to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of Gulf of Mexico floating assets, with emphasis on the FPSO Turritella and that all operational practices meeting Flag State, Port State, other regulators and commercial targets are delivered. Ensure that asset and system integrity plans including verification and assurance controls are in place and fit for purpose, in particular that the marine systems risks are managed to ALARP.

Ensure that marine related requests from offshore for advice and/or support are dealt with in a timely manner.

Deliver and coordinate a cost-effective preventive planned and corrective maintenance system as agreed with the Regulators.

Ensure that the Marine Discipline Lead is fully updated as to the maritime technical and operational status of the assets.

Review inspection reports to identify issues and take prompt action to address with the aim of limiting any further deterioration.

Visit the assets regularly to assess and report the condition of marine systems in order to maintain and improve the asset integrity system to safeguard the asset, crew, cargo, environment and the Groups reputation. Report to the Marine Discipline Lead after each visit, highlighting any action points and the agreed action party.

When requested form the Maritime Ops. Engineer, investigate and evaluate alternative systems, equipment, contractors and methods for beneficial use in place of obsolete, unreliable or less efficient systems or equipment to address sub-standard performance.

Prepare marine input into weight management activities of the assets.

Actively promulgate and promote the Group and Company's HSSE policies and ensure that expectations are fully understood by all support personnel used.

Assist the Marine Discipline Lead, as required, with the preparation of annual operating budgets.

Monitor and manage agreed budgets.

Ensure that change management processes on the asset are effectively managed for the assigned scope.

Work with the offshore team to ensure full visibility of system defects/maintenance tasks and that they are effectively captured in the system (SAP).

Prepare marine input into ‘shut down’ specifications for the assets. Plan and manage agreed shutdown scope in accordance with company procedures, ensuring that all required processes are completed in a timely manner and that costs are properly managed.

Ensure the effective implementation of quality improvement projects and enhanced business processes associated with engineering issues offshore and onshore.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international, national and classification society rules and regulations which apply, or are proposed for application.

Ensure compliance with management control documentation and asset specific operating procedures/manuals and checklists for assigned scope.

Provide technical support to any investigations/audits

Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship

Bachelor's in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering

P.E. license in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering or the ability to obtain one

5 years considerable experience in marine engineering knowledge in design, construction and operations which will have been accumulated, from periods ashore in an office or shipyard as an engineer with an engineering, marine or naval architecture background and/or sea-going experience culminating in a senior position as Chief Engineer,

Emphasis on marine systems such as propulsion and station-keeping, cargo systems, bilge and ballast, ventilation, electrical systems, etc.

Experience with FPSO/FSO, TLP, Spar, and Semi-Sub production assets operation and maintenance with specific proven delivery in developing and operating an approved planned maintenance scheme preferred.

Proven delivery in the assessment and management of marine systems risk.

It is essential for the incumbent to be fluent in English and able to report effectively verbally and in writing.

HUET training will be required and ability to receive TWIC card

Must be able to travel offshore on an as-needed basis
