Adecco Engineering & Technical has an immediate need for a direct hire role for an experienced Plant Maintenance Manager. This is a key role for our client. They are looking for someone that hit ground running and in this role you will truly make an impact for years to come.

Start Date: January 2013
Location: Vancouver, Washington Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, Washington metro area. Local Regional candidates only!

Position Overview:
To direct maintenance employees and activities, responsible for maintaining all production and support equipment, prioritizing daily maintenance needs, and developing Preventative and Predictive maintenance programs.

Skill Requirements:

Plan, develop, lead and supervise maintenance employees, programs and procedures to ensure efficient operations of facility.
Coordinate or delegate completion of Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance processes.
Direct the organization, and the preparation of maintenance parts for a kit and delivery system prior to PM’s.
Develop strong working relationship with the staff.
Develop, support and lead autonomous maintenance programs with the Printing and Converting Departments as a shared program.
Supervise, motivate, coach, and instill good leadership skills in the maintenance staff.
Establish a strong presence on the floor to set and communicate expectations and standards.
Evaluate and communicate results so all employees understand performance levels.
Pitch in to assist in completion of maintenance tasks as needed.
Administer inspection programs and associated compliance requirements for insurance on plant boilers, air compressors, sprinkler systems, fire protection equipment, etc., while complying with all environmental mandates.
Support and communicate company direction and policies to subordinates. Encourages and supports employee participation to ensure greater working relationships between management and the plant workforce.
Assist plant management in perpetuating a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation.
Emphasize setting and achieving measurable goals.
Support and participate in the Plant Safety Steering Team meeting. Ensures safety concerns are acted on in a timely matter.
Develop and administer capital budgets in accordance with plant and corporate objectives.
Develop and manage a comprehensive facility maintenance budget.
Assist in the process of bringing new products and equipment on-line smoothly and efficiently.
Adept at estimating work requirements, establishing maintenance schedules, and measuring performance against estimates.
Administer and report compliance with environmental regulations.

Knowledge and Skill in applying:

Requires ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, inside and outside the company.
Requires the ability to creatively solve problems and facilitate others to do the same.
Must be a confident decision maker and capable of making decisions within time and information constraints.
The ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, and interface with all levels of management on a continual basis is required.
Must be able to operate independently.
The ability to lead an organization through change.
Working knowledge of digital and servo style drives.
Proven experience with PLC style controls including basic programming functions.
Able to work with laptop computer interface in the following programs; TI, Allen Bradley, GE, Fenner and Touch Screen
Knowledgeable of current electrical codes.
Able to draw complex and ladder diagrams as they apply to plant equipment.

Required skills/experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required
Minimum of five years of supervisory and management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Able to manage and direct up to 10 employees
Specific paper or converting industry experience desired.
