Full Time Position
A Telecommunications Engineer provides support developing telecommunications requirements for small to medium size projects. Provides in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives for government agencies in support of their strategic modernization efforts. Provides telecommunications enhancement designs for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Provides interoperability and interface support during design as well as testing and fielding. Supports telecommunications infrastructure using technology, and telecommunications engineering best practices; Transport Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), routing protocols, LAN switching, Internet and Intranet systems, and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) based network management systems.
· Obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
· Support technologies such as but not limited to voice systems, call center technologies, PBS, gateways, voice networks, voicemail, call recording and ancillary support systems.
· Support daily operations, projects and all related services
· Perform complex MACDs, troubleshooting of complex issues
· Maintain system and user documentation
· Provide infrastructure support and validation testing for system patching, hardening, and hardware/software upgrades, system updates, and break/fix activities on telecommunications equipment and applications
· Ability to interact with users, customers and team members
· Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline OR 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
· 5 years of experience as a Telecommunications Engineer
· Experience working with and supporting TCP/IP
· Experience providing telecommunications support to medium and large-scale infrastructures
· Familiar with routing protocols, LAN switching, Internet and Intranet Systems
· Experience with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) based network management systems
· Ability to obtain a VA clearance
· Ability to work for any U.S. employer
CCNA-Voice or CCNA-Collaboration
Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Specialist Certification
Current VA clearance

Work is performed mostly in office settings. Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various land use developments, construction sites or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers and various pieces of office equipment.

The duties of this position require a candidate to successfully receive and maintain a security clearance.
