th
Readiness Division (RD) located at Joint Base MDL, Ft. Dix, NJ.  The Engineering Technician shall assist with the execution and implementation of a multi-faceted, comprehensive environmental base operations and sustainment program to ensure the buildings and grounds are properly monitored and maintained to meet the functional, appearance, safety, security and environmental standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility inspections and checklists
Monitor physical and functional condition of building systems
Planning, coordination and quality assurance requirements and specifications for service contract support of facility repairs
Initiation of work order requests and criteria/objectives for maintenance and repair, input into CSS
Coordinate and participate in occupational health and safety inspections
Prepare, review and submit energy efficiency and sustainable practices/recommendations
Promote energy conservation and awareness
Develop quality assurance program and implement
Provide quality assurance inspection and oversight for maintenance and repair and document as required
Monitor facility systems
Assist 99th RD DPW implement corrective actions, repair and maintenance
Review and refine task and requirements statement and order of cost magnitude for Sustainment, Revitalization and Maintenance (SRM) projects received from field personnel to meet the requirement of the 99th RD DPW
Perform site visits to facilities as necessary to gather information for SRM contract package requirements
Assist the 99th RD with the prioritization of all SRM projects to continually refine the 99th RD Annual Work Plan
Assist the 99th RD with the creation of 5 Year Work Plan and life cycle management of all facility assets
Monitoring and inspect life safety, physical security and fire prevention requirements, Address deficiencies if required
Respond to all information requests
Attend Project Review Boards as requested
Documentation, checklists and reports

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three plus years experience;
Five plus years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook
Telephone etiquette and excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with military personnel, management and fellow AFOS contractors
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation
General office administrative and clerical skills to perform support duties and answer telephones

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure o electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
