Role Summary:

The Senior Utility Regional Sales Manager – Grid Automation will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing customer accounts in the Mid Atlantic, US.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Senior Utility Regional Sales Manager – Grid Automation, you will:

Develop and execute commercial strategy for sales of Protection & Control, Automation and communication products for Utility accounts within the specified region (specific strategy for the development of services contracts to include engineering, project design and execution, enclosures, field service and master service agreements)

Coordinate with GE service business leaders on opportunities and project performance

Communicate market conditions and strategy for continued service growth

Develop and manage the network of third party Sales Representatives for selling GE GA products

Ensure the continued development of new leads and market opportunities in the region

Manage sales opportunities and quarterly estimates for new and existing accounts through a CRM

Be accountable for meeting or exceeding the orders and sales plans

Work with customers to determine their CTQs (Critical to Quality) and appropriate product / service solutions needs

Outline, present and sell the value of our products and services that can benefit our customer needs

Work directly with Customers to influence specifications and close key deals

Provide an essential link from the customer to commercial operations, marketing, engineering and product development teams

Develop and cultivate long-term relationships at all levels of customer organizations and within GE

Provide market dynamics input such as competitive intelligence, to the Marketing and Business team


Bachelor's Degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university or college

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in protection & controls / automation or service applications

Minimum of 5 years of direct sales within Utility markets


Ability and willingness to travel as required

Desired Characteristics:

Deep Power System Grid Automation market segment knowledge and expertise

Knowledge of Power System hardware and Industrial customer electrical applications

Experience developing and executing successful growth strategies

Ability to make effective customer technical presentations

Successful orders growth track record

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Works efficiently without direct supervision

Desire to work outside of boundaries and drive change

Six Sigma Certification or equivalent Quality certification
