Aircraft Group is looking for a Site

Environmental Engineer to implement and manage environmental compliance

tasks and assist the EHS Manager with projects. 

In this role, you will enact compliance assessments, engineer process solutions,

and verify procedures are followed.  You

will also ensure chemical use/hazard/risk data is accurately collected and

interpreted for reporting, and implement related environmental management

systems.  This position is located at our

growing Aerospace plant in Torrance, CA.

Here's what you’ll

work on:

Arrange for and ensure

the precise collection and calculation of all environmental data across

operations; and create, finalize and submit the regulatory reports.  Monitor process owners to assure the

compliance procedures associated with aforementioned reports are being

implemented and maintained.  Example data

is: biological, radiation, chemical, noise, exhaust systems, emissions, waste

characteristics, etc.Identify hazards and

analyze the risks associated with hazards across all site operations.  Participate in the creation of training

materials, procedures; and audit programs to help the site manage and lower its

hazards/risks. Assist in the review and

interpretation of regulations impacting the site, and propose options that will

assist with the creation and implementation of compliant processes and

procedures.Provide the

employees/supervisors guidance that will develop compliant solutions, new

techniques and opportunities for process improvements. Implement, complete and

take action to help ensure regulatory permit requirements, reporting data and

environmental management system procedures are continuously monitored and

updated as changes occur at the site to maintain compliance.  Participate in the use and management of

internal audit systems.Create, maintain and

deliver the regulatory training programs to assure employees, contractors and

visitors are trained in required practices. 

Participates in external government agency audits and follows up on concerns

identified during audits.Support emergency

response activities and be capable to lead the site as proper, responsible

response team member.  Expected to be

available for emergencies 24/7.Support the Site EHS Manager,

Group/Corporate EHS Management and work in conjunction with other site

environmental/safety engineers as needed.As a member of the

Emergency Response Team, must be able to wear a respirator

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree from

an accredited institution in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology,

Chemistry, or EHS.Minimum 3 years of

Environmental Compliance experienceDue to federal contract

obligations, must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)

Preferred

Qualifications include: 

Prefer that the Bachelor’s

Degree is in Environmental Science or Environmental EngineeringEnvironmental compliance

experience in Manufacturing Experience managing chemicals

and wastes Experience responding

to, cleaning and reporting chemical spillsExperience determining hazardous

materials transportation regulations requirements Environmental compliance

experience within the SCAQMD areaEnvironmental compliance

experience in all areas:  air, water,

wasteExperience working with

regulatory agencies:  SCAQMD, LA County

Sanitation, DTSC, CUPA, DOTExperience writing

permitsExperience performing

compliance auditsExperience training employees

in regulatory complianceSome experience

implementing/managing Safety programsStrong written and

verbal communications skills; ability to influenceStrong interpersonal

skills; able to interact with all levels within the organization
