Job Description
Broadcom is developing complete solutions supporting the next generation of high-speed mobile technologies with a product roadmap that includes base-band processors for WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access), HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access), RF Transceivers, WLAN/Bluetooth/GPS combos and Power Management ICs.
In this role, your key responsibilities include defining the Power Management ICs (PMICs) system architecture and specifying new product requirements that have to meet cellular wireless chipsets performance and cost targets.
The PMIC system Manager will also work closely with chipset and PMIC product marketing, applications, IC design, hardware and software development teams and external customers to accomplish the optimal product definition, meeting commercial and technical requirements. She/he will support roadmap definition at product or IP level, play expert role into optimizing PMIC and chipset power performances and present system level solutions to external customers.
Job Requirements * Typically requires a BS degree and 15 years of experience or an MS degree and 12 years of experience or a PhD and 9 years of experience;
* Proven managerial experience in power management architecture for mobile and cellular applications
* In depth knowledge in Battery and energy management systems (Charging, Fuel Gauge)
* Ability to integrate and derive PMIC solution from platform level power management constraints, such as power budget, thermal management, etc.
* Deep understanding of single or multi-phase Switching regulators and LDO design considerations
* Technology background in Low Power Design in consumer electronics and/or mobile phone
* Strong leadership and negotiation skills, seeking cooperation with various stakeholders including Marketing, IC design, Platform level system, hardware and software teams.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to work with multi- functional teams across several time zones including external customer facing
* Experience in IP requirement management
