Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas

Engineer B:

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus six (6) years experience in engineering, acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas

Engineer C:

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus eight (8) years experience in engineering, acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas

POSITION

DESCRIPTION

This position exists to manage multiple programs under limited supervision to maintain environmental compliance, operations, and employee safety at Austin Energy facilities. The person in this position is a self-directed, experienced environmental professional and is responsible for planning and executing tasks to ensure all Austin Energy power production and electric service delivery sites and processes meet various state and federal environmental regulations. The person will also contribute to achieving overall Austin Energy goals related to safety, sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience at (or representing) a regulated entity with permitting (amendments/renewals) and maintenance of various environmental permits for all media

Knowledge and previous training related to chemical hazards and associated communication programs and requirements (

HAZCOM

Knowledge of rules governing

PCB

mitigation and waste management practices

Knowledge and experience with sustainability programs and practices, and processes to reduce environmental footprint

Demonstrated experience (including formal project management training) writing scopes/specifications and managing complex environmental projects involving multiple stakeholders

Knowledge of reporting protocols and methodologies used for reporting emissions and process upsets/events

Experience communicating environmental risks and project updates both verbally and via written reports to multiple audiences (regulators, public, executive management)

Advanced Excel and programming skills such a Visual Basic,

SQL

etc

Knowledge of continuous stack emission analyzers and Acid Rain electronic emissions reporting requirements
