Job Requisition:Database Engineer – VBA Mail Processing Services
Leidos Health Solutions Group has an opportunity for a Database Engineer supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Mail Processing Services (MPS) task order. Leidos provides a managed service to VA for unattended automation of triage and handling of mail packets after document conversion. These services encompass not only the direct processing of mail packets but also the ancillary services, milestones and deliverables necessary to prepare for and execute the work.
JOB DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: The candidate will participate in a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to the business process automation design, configuration, deployment, operations and sustainment, and BI reporting for Mail Processing Services for Veterans mail. The team performs the following tasks to provide the Mail Processing Service: Automated Mail Processing; Business Process Mapping for Automation and Business Rules Management; Connectivity, Access, and Security; Automated Process Testing, Validation, Deployment, and Resilience; Program and Contract Management and Reporting; and Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting.
Work in Agile team environment with business process analysts, developers, testers, production support staff, stakeholders, and external vendor partners.
The candidate will be responsible for providing daily support for Kofax applications including Robotics Process Automation (RPA), TotalAgility, Transformation and Analytics.
The candidate will have knowledge of and the ability to remotely monitor databases and to analyze, organize, and apply new technology designs and programs.
The candidate will develop solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.
The candidate may be responsible for entering and reviewing data within the database,
The candidate may be responsible for ensuring user data integrity,
The candidate may be responsible for maintaining database support tools,
The candidate may be responsible for maintaining database tables and dictionaries,
The candidate may be responsible for maintaining recovery and back-up procedures, and
The candidate may be responsible for maintaining making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technologies or equivalent and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Candidate must pass a National Agency Check (NAC) covering the past five years to complete a VA Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Background Investigation
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Kofax Transformation Module Solutions
Experience with document scanners and drivers
Experience with OCR engines, barcodes, file/image conversion tools and web services
Experience with Java, HTML, JS, JQuery, XML, JDOM, HOCR
Ability to work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables.
Ability to be responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area.
Ability to be responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level technical staff.
Proficient knowledge of the VA Enterprise OI&T network, standards, and policies.
Certification as a Kofax Technical Solutions Specialist with Kofax TotalAgility and/or other Kofax products
Experience with VA, DoD, or other Federal business processes; business process automation and business process integration efforts
Experience working in a remote (teleworker) environment
Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Team-orientation rather than an individual contributor
