POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for designing, supporting, maintaining and evaluating computer networking and telecommunication system; installs, configures, and maintains the network infrastructure; assists installs, both physical and virtual computer servers; maintains employee network email and card key access accounts; assists in monitoring and maintaining the firewall and security infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Oversees day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems.
2. Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installations, backup maintenance and problem solving.
3. Assists in hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information; researches and recommends network and server hardware and software.
4. Assists with installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software; analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems.
5. Monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges.
6. Installs supports and maintains both physical and virtual network servers and appliances; installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the Storage Area Network (SAN).
7. Performs troubleshooting analysis of all data and voice communications issues; includes documentation of all network problems and resolution for future reference.
8. Maintains an accurate inventory of all network hardware/software.
9. Manage and implement wireless network throughout the branch network.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in all areas of local and wide area networks management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning designing, implementation and server support; experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies; experience supporting telecommunications equipment; experience working in MPLS based Cisco environment
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
Any combination of education and training equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information engineering or other related areas; such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform duties comparable to those listed herein. CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, considered a plus.
JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Proven background in Cisco switches and routers.
Detailed understanding of Switches, Routers, LAN and WAN topology, TCP/IP, DNS, VoIP, QoS, Netflow, TACACS, VPN and MPLS best practices.
Good technical problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Highly motivated, detail oriented team player with a positive attitude.
