Engineering careers are an exciting prospect, especially for those who enjoy problem solving, either as a hobby or in their professional life. There are plenty of jobs in engineering out there; in fact there are hundreds of sub-jobs that break off from the more mainstream ones. All of them are equally important, and of course most of them have been around for hundreds of years.

One of the engineering careers out there is in Aerospace. These are the individuals that work on creating missiles, aircraft, and even applications for the space program. These are the people who make it possible for you to fly across the country. Though it takes some time and experience to work your way into this field, it's definitely worth it in the end.

Then you have Chemical engineers. These engineering jobs are centered around chemistry and work to make high quality food processing methods, as well as fertilization methods. Like all fields, you will need a strong background in science to both enter the field, as well as work your way up.

What about biomedical? This is a great field as far as jobs in engineering go, and your entire career will be dedicated to solving medical problems. Whether you are working with prosthetics, or if you are dedicated to creating medical procedures, you're going to find that this is both rewarding and challenging.

Industrial engineers are among the manufacturing engineer jobs, and these are also quite rewarding. These engineers make sure that companies both work efficiently and safely, meaning that manufacturing jobs in engineering are going to involve the well being of thousands of people. Is this something that you can handle?

One of the other jobs in engineering involves nuclear power. These jobs in engineering are dedicated to tapping into nuclear energy to use as a power source. This is a very dangerous profession, but it is also very rewarding if you can get the hang of it.

As you've probably guessed, all of these engineering careers are going to require extensive knowledge and experience. It is quite true that you are going to need a background in science, as well as physics for some of these engineering careers. You will also need to take any supporting courses and degree programs for the field that you choose. Is it worth it? Absolutely! There are times when you may need to take an apprenticeship to make it anywhere in an industry, but consider your learning time.

Always remember to create a good resume. The resume is everything, no matter what type of job you are going for. Make sure that it is short and to the point, but not too short. For example, you're going to want to ensure that your resume is centered and it is approximately one page in length. Fitting all of your relevant information on a single page is going to be difficult, but you need to find a way to do it. If you cannot, then you will want to employ the services of a professional resume writer, as this will help you greatly. Even if you seem to have limited work experience, they can find a way to help you make that look like a positive thing. Just remember to never lie on your resume, because when applying for these types of jobs, you never want to be caught in a lie!
