The engineering profession involves the application of scientific knowledge to creating real-world systems. Engineering has played a key role in most of the scientific inventions in the world today. Many people have been recognized for their outstanding contributions in engineering. Professor YC Chan was recognized by Engineering News Record for his achievements in electrical engineering. From the Imperial College of Science and Technology at the University of London, Professor Chan earned a Bachelor's of Science in mechanical engineering in 1977, a Master's in material science in 1978, and a PhD in electrical engineering in 1983. Before receiving his PhD, Chan also received an MBA from the University of Hong Kong. He joined the University of Hong Kong as the senior electrical engineering lecturer. He is currently chair of the Electrical Engineering Center, and has been a member of the committee of the Institution of Electrical Engineering for eight years. He co-founded the Electronic Manufacturing and Packaging Services of New York. In addition, Professor Chan has done much research in the area of electrical engineering. Attached to his name are many successful electrical engineering projects. Chan's efforts to promote the growth of electrical engineering have resulted in more jobs in the field.

Throughout his career, Professor Chan's focus has been on ensuring the manufacture of quality electrical products. He has conducted tests on newly manufactured electrical engineering items, to ensure that they meet the required standards and are safe for use.

Professor YC Chan has been an important figure in the advancement of the electrical engineering field and the growth of electrical engineering as a profession. He is admired by many engineering students. Indeed, Professor Chan is a distinguished electrical engineer.
