Sales Engineer Jobs
A sales engineer is responsible for providing pre-sales and post-sales support to the sales team. Typical responsibilities of a sales engineer include coordinating with the sales team; participating in pre-sales presentation and post-sales demonstrations; educating the customers on the use of products; handling problems and objections; promoting up-selling and cross-selling; maintaining excellent customer service experience; travelling to customer locations; attending promotional events; solving customer's doubts; securing service contracts for future; and participating in customer retention programs. A sales engineer typically reports to a sales director.
A sales engineer should have a bachelor's degree in a technical field. A sales engineer position demands strong convincing and negotiation skills. A sales engineer position may also be referred to as a presales engineer, post-sales engineer, technical engineer, or sales support engineer. Excellent customer service skill is a key trait for such positions.
