Process Engineering Jobs
A process engineer is responsible for analyzing conceptual type drawings, aircraft blueprints, customer specifications; preparing a complete cost proposal package; coordinating with operations and purchasing teams; determining the cost of materials, tools, fixtures, and capital equipment; develop estimating computer programs containing information such as man-hours, capacity, and standard work data; facilitating collection of appropriate analytical data necessary to prepare a complete and accurate cost estimate; utilizing standard data, parametric analysis, vendor quotes, and learning curve criteria to develop new and/or on-going product cost estimates; training new process engineers; and preparing forecasted manpower, rate tooling, and floor-space requirements to achieve customer delivery schedule. A process engineer typically reports to a manufacturing director.
A process engineer should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, or other relevant discipline.
