Geotechnical Engineering Jobs

Geotechnical engineering positions may include that of a geotechnical engineer, geotechnical lead engineer, geotechnical division manager, geotechnical engineering manager, geotechnical research associate, geotechnical scientist, geotechnical project engineer, associate – geotech engineering, geotechnical project coordinator, and civil engineer. Most geotechnical engineering professionals are involved in the study of soil, land, or earth; handling construction related projects focusing on tunnels or excavation works; analyzing the characteristics of the land; and preparing reports for use in the area of minerals and natural resources. A geotechnical engineering professional typically reports to the director – civil engineering.
A geotechnical engineer has a bachelor's degree in geotechnical engineering or master's of science degree with specialization in geotechnical engineering. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience gained from a civil engineering, geotechnical, or soil engineering position may be required for some positions.
