Engineering Technician Jobs
An engineering technician is a skilled professional responsible for handling technical matters pertaining to the organization's facilities and equipments. An engineering technician is responsible for installation and maintenance of the facilities; troubleshooting when the machines breakdown; providing training to new engineering staff and operators; advising engineering personnel; offering advice to the management on technical advancements; preparing documents and reports regarding the use of technology; attending meetings and meeting with customers who use technical products; participating in health and safety policies formulation; and promoting technological know-how in the organization. An engineering technician typically reports to an engineering manager.
An engineering technician should have a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline combined with several years of experience. Strong expertise in a particular field of engineering is essential. Prior experience working as an engineering technician, engineering specialist, engineering analyst, engineering consultant, or engineering advisor may be advantageous.
