Engineering Management Jobs
A professional engaged in engineering management is responsible for managing a set of various engineering resources. More specific duties of an engineering management professional are hiring, training, motivating, and terminating engineering personnel; training new engineers; evaluating performance of the staff members; taking care of inventory supplies; supervising the facilities and ensuring OSHA compliance; participating in strategy formulation for various engineering divisions; implementation of long term strategies; handling technical and administrative issues that may arise; performing special tasks as directed by superiors which may include positions like those of a senior manager, engineering director, vice president, president, chief technical officer, chief engineer, general manager, or managing director.
A managerial position in an engineering environment requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and several years of relevant experience. Excellent academic credentials are required. An engineering management position may be available with an engineering company, construction company, electronics manufacturers, automobile manufacturing company, etc.
