Manufacturing Engineer Jobs

A manufacturing engineer is responsible for leading and assisting closure of existing engineering, supplier quality, and/or manufacturing issues. They are also responsible for supervising shop-floor activities; attending to faults arising during various stages in manufacturing and supervising and guiding shop-floor workers. Manufacturing engineers suggest and practice best manufacturing processes; keep abreast of new machines and technology and prepare designs of products and facility layouts. They have to bear the tasks of preparing and revising manufacturing documents, drawings, and bills of material and provide manufacturing level support to seniors. The manufacturing engineer delivers presentations relating to the manufacturing processes undertaken by the organization and ensures that the processes comply with the health and safety regulations etc. The position may also be listed under the heading production engineer, mechanical engineer, industrial engineer, or just engineer.

Applicants for these positions have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or manufacturing engineering. Certification in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Mil-Spec and ISO knowledge/experience is a plus.
