Pasadena, CA — The engineering job market looks to be strong in 2008. New engineering jobs have been added across the country, and this trend is plainly evident on EngineeringCrossing, a leading job-search website and career portal (www.engineeringcrossing.com).
EngineeringCrossing, the engineering field’s fastest-growing job board, with more than 98,000 engineering jobs, including positions for structural engineers, manufacturing engineers, and systems engineers, among others, has witnessed a boom in new job listings over a recent two-month period. Between February and April, more than 30,000 new jobs were added to the site.
Supporting these findings, Chemical & Engineering News, a weekly magazine published by the American Chemical Society, has projected that 2008 “will be a good year” for engineering and chemical engineering graduates, and may, in fact, be “the strongest job market seen since 2001.”
EngineeringCrossing’s listings indicate that there is a large concentration of engineering jobs in the mid-Atlantic states, with more than 3,000 openings each in Pennsylvania, New York, and Virginia. California tops all other states with more than 10,000 engineering job openings.
And new engineering jobs are being added to EngineeringCrossing daily. In just the past seven days, more than 13,000 new engineering job listings have been added to the site. This increase is a good indication that last year’s growth in engineering jobs will continue into 2008.
