Sr. Software Build Engineer

Profile

STA Group is seeking a senior level software engineer to join our team of consultants currently working at a client site in Bloomington, IL. This Software Build Engineer will need to be self-motivated with solid fundamentals in continuous build automation, release planning, and deployment automation. The engineer will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining continuous automation tools while collaborating with development groups on seamless integration. This is a client engagement; STA Group is a direct consulting vendor for this client. Full-time work on-site in Bloomington, IL would be required.
Skills:
• Proficiency with Java/J2EE applications using Spring 3 is required
• Experience debugging deployment problems for Java applications
• Prior experience deploying modularized applications (SaaS) is preferred
• Knowledge of Version control system (SVN), specifically on branching and tagging
•Experience with Build tools (Ant, Maven2/3), and at least one Continuous Integration system
(Hudson/Jenkins)
• Understating of code scanning tools (Emma, Cobertura, Checkstyle, and PMD) configuration
• Experience with ESBs, specifically Mule
• Prior experience with App Servers (TC server, Websphere) is preferred
• Solid understanding with Jrules Ruleset Deployment is essential
• Proficient with scripting languages (Shell)
• Operational knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix
Responsibilities:
• Supporting and training development/build teams in using the continuous integration frameworks
• Evaluating, selecting and managing third party tools to help all development teams operate at a higher level.
• Taking part in development planning meetings.
• Anticipating the needs of individual development groups
• Understanding of architectural and operational needs is vital to assist development teams in the decision making process.
