Profile

My client is a rapidly growing company located in the heart of Norwalk and the are looking for a Senior Network Engineer. This person will be supporting the daily operation of the company's rapidly growing Network Engineering Department. This position will design, implement, and manage complex networking and data applications systems and develop new solutions for customers. This is a full time permanent opportunity paying up to $100k base with 18 PTO days, a Gym on site, cafeteria on site, nice building and full medical/dental benefits. NETWORK ENGINEER - JOB DESCRIPTION:
Skills:
In depth experience with routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, OSPF
Practical knowledge of VRF, MPLS, HSRP
Extensive experience with Cisco VPN configuration
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi task in fast paced environment
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge with embedded Linux systems helpful
Understanding of legacy communication protocols SNA, SDLC, Bisync and protocol conversion is a strong plus
Responsibilities:
Advanced configuration, dynamic routing, network engineering, and administration of large-scale enterprise network
Proactive maintenance and life-cycle support for three Data Centers
Advanced troubleshooting and customer support
Maintain current knowledge levels on existing production applications as well as acquire knowledge of emerging technology
Create and update network and systems documentation
Provides technical support for new project roll-out
Train staff as needed for usage of new applications and/or services
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
10 years of progressive experience as a network engineer or related occupation
