GDH Consulting has a fantastic opportunity for our client in IL. This is a contract through the end of the year.
This request is for one (1) Level 3/4 analyst for the Network ApplicationOptimization (NAO) team in Enterprise Telecommunications. With the nature of this work and its impact on convergence I am seeking an employee with a broad based knowledge of Telecommunications technologies and the ability to think strategically and from a broad perspective.
Primary responsibility - Application Optimization :
* Support of application load balancing and WAN Optimization hardware and software:
-Cisco ACE
-Cisco WAAS and WAAS Mobile; WCCP
-Cisco GSS (and DNS skills)
- F5
* Provide defect management for load balancing and WAN Optimization technologies
* Facilitate communication with business areas on the use of load balancing and WAN Optimization technologies.
*Vendor relations:
- Work closely with vendors for load balancing needs, to include solution design and contract discussions
- Coordinate managed solutions services with vendors
- Research new vendors and their offerings and costs
- Attend user groups and conferences to build external relationships
* Coordinate and participate in Project and Service Request work for funded roadmap efforts
* Research application optimization technologies and new vendors to increase knowledge
Desired skills and experiences:
* Broad Telecommunications (data & voice) knowledge
* Knowledge of Layer 4 thru Layer 7 load balancing technologies and products preferred; in particular URL load balancing and URL parsing
* Knowledge about the configuration of a switched network environment
* Understands advanced configuration for Cisco switches and routers.
* Should possess detailed knowledge of Cisco Content Switching.
* Detailed knowledge of the OSI Model, and how network configurations are accomplished at different levels of the model.
* In-depth understanding of networking principles: TCP/IP protocols and subnetting, Ethernet topology designs and terminology, network interface cards.
* Understands a VLAN and at least one guideline for configuring a VLAN.
* Is familiar with router and switch hardware to include hardware redundancy applications.
* Understands how to configure and troubleshoot RIP, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols.
* Understands / is able to troubleshoot WAN circuit technologies. Should have experience working with SONET, ISDN, DSL, and DS-0 through DS-3 technologies.
* Able to describe dial-on-demand routing.
* Possesses a firm understanding of encryption protocols, and how to implement network based encryption.
* Understands how to configure static and dynamic NAT.
* Is able to create and apply ACL's to meet design requirements.
* Demonstrates an awareness of network security issues.
* Understands the philosophy of internet gateway routers configuration.
* Possesses a basic understanding of the purpose and location of print servers, SMS servers, and firewalls.
* DNS
* HTTP manipulation and insertion
* Scripting experience (i.e. PERL., TLC, etc.)
* Experience with analysis and diagnostic tools (i.e. Sniffer, Wireshark, etc.)
Qualified individuals should have:
* A Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or extensive networking experience. CCNA preferred.
