What it Takes to be a Computer Engineer
Intro
It is a known and an inarguable fact that these days computer has become an inseparable aspect of our every day life, so it is no wonder that these days many employment options revolve around this marvelous piece of machinery.
Educational requirements
So let me tell you what it takes to be a good computer engineer and I will share my personal experiences regarding this aspect. In order to be a computer engineer there are a few mandatory courses one has to take.
First of all they should compulsorily be a high school graduate and must be graduated from an accredited college in US. After the completion of the college education the student’s are given an opportunity to choose their subjects. If they choose to be a computer engineer then they must take up either computer sciences or electronics in their under graduate level. These subjects are mandatory to be a computer engineer. This under graduate program lasts for 4 years except for the first year the rest of the years have two semesters. Only first year has one semester, so after the 4 years under graduate program these people are given their degrees.
Masters in computer engineering
But this doesn’t stop here as many people tend to go for master’s degree. Many students do it overseas. Given the masters they have a lot of knowledge in the programming, so doing masters is really helpful. Almost all universities in US offer this. This is one way of meeting the educational requirements of being a computer engineer. There are also degree programs which require the needs to be an engineer.
If a pupil is not interested in taking a 4 year under graduate program he does graduation in other subjects but once the degree is completed he writes a common admission test and if he scores required marks he will be given various colleges to chose to pursue a course called MCA which is a master in computer applications. This is also a valid and a respected degree and this degree holders command a good salary also. So these are the educational requirements of becoming a computer engineer in US.
