Before receiving his PhD, Chan also received an MBA from the University of Hong Kong. He joined the University of Hong Kong as the senior electrical engineering lecturer. He is currently chair of the Electrical Engineering Center, and has been a member of the committee of the Institution of Electrical Engineering for eight years. He co-founded the Electronic Manufacturing and Packaging Services of New York. In addition, Professor Chan has done much research in the area of electrical engineering.
