Most roof leaks happen because of faulty flashings. Inspect flashings where a roof climbs alongside skylights, chimneys, roof vents, etc.
INSPECT ROOFING
Inspect for cracks, splits, tears or any shingle-related problems.
INSPECT ATTIC
Inspect for sign of water such as water stains, mold or standing water on the attic floor. Examine the underside of the roof for moisture and follow any water trail to its highest point.
TAKE MEASUREMENTS
Taking measurements form the leak entry points will help you locate the leak from the outside.
